Dallas RFC

Dallas RFC is looking to bring on a Rugby Development Officer. This will be the first time we have hired an individual to help develop the club and the game of rugby in Dallas. Any individual interested needs to send a CV or resume to Ted Hill at tedh@lifeben.com.

Dallas RFC will be participating in a national qualifier tournament taking place at Glencoe Park (off of the I-75 north bound access road just south of Mockingbird lane) on Saturday, June 28th. Players are asked to be ready to play by 9:00 AM. Call Fil (716) 435-5757 with any questions. We are hoping to have enough to put in a second side, so please show up early and ready to play.

This Thursaday ( June 19, 2008 ) at Lake Highlands Park starting at 6:30 PM. We are hosting a Free Beer and Rugby Night. Come out and catch up with the Dallas RFC 7’s players.

34 teams showed up for the 2008 Lone Star Classic. The tournament featured excellent rugby for the entire day with good weather, suprising upsets, brilliant runs and another social event for the ages. The Dallas Reds advanced to the Cup semifinals by way of dominating pool play, going undefeated with a 89 point favorable differential. The Semi-final could not have been scripted better as the Reds found themselves seeded against cross-town rivals Dallas Harlequins. A very tight game resulted in a 2 point victory for the Reds to give them the chance to play the Austin Elite in the Finals. Unfortunately, the Reds’ campaign fell a bit short of a story book finish as a crisp and talented Austin secured the Cup. The results put the Reds in First place in the TOLA 7’s Series, even with Texas Tech.
